Three giggling women, cleaners of the parc, made a break to admire the spiral they spotted during their work. They gave us their postal address and we promised to send the photograph to them.  Watch their beautiful camouflage boots!

Early visitors

The first people start passing by. The circular space we made seems to work like a natural border. And the first questions start coming. What is it? What does it do? Why? But as always people start explaining themselves and among each other. And the common vision is: its beautiful!

Morning hours in the parc

This morning we set up the installation on the circular space we carefully made yesterday. As the sun tops the trees on the east side of the parc the solar robot already made its first few steps.

Marrakech Biennale

We are proud to announce that we will execute a Spiral Drawing Sunrise Performance in Marrakech, as part of the official parallel program of the Bienniale.

Our small solar powered robot, will graph the Marrakech sunrise in geometrically spiral-lines of sand, directly on the ground.

The performance will result in a print that will be on show in the exhibition “On Geometry and Speculation”. The print (brass foil; 180 x 180 cm) will be available for purchase.

You are cordially invited for the performance and/or exhibition opening.

Cyberparc, Marrakech
Tuesday 28 February and Friday 2 March from Sunrise till noon.

The exhibition “On Geometry and Speculation” is curated by Hicham Khalidi and supported by The Marrakech Biennale, Mondriaan Fund, Stroom Den Haag, The Royal Dutch Embassy in Morocco, European Cultural Foundation, The Canadian Council for the Arts, Stokroos Fund, Hyzkia van Kralingen Transport, Concrete Image Stores.

Jasper Hopman will assist Esther Polak during the performance.
